Be a part of our management team as an hourly supervisor! As an hourly supervisor, you will partner with the management team at your store and as the manager on duty, you will lead staff to provide excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. Supervisors typically work a combination of supervisory shifts and shifts in their regular hourly role (e.g. Server, Support, Phones, Driver, Cook, etc.). Schedule flexibility is needed since hourly supervisors typically work 1-2 closing shifts per week plus more supervisor shifts available to cover manager absences/vacations, events, and meetings.
This Supervisor opportunity is an active ‘hands-on’ role on the management team and provides you with excellent opportunities to further develop your skills and advance to a manager in training RM or KM) role with Pizza Lucé.
PAY: $22.00 to $23.00 per hour
SCHEDULE: Full time, AM, PM and Weekend availability

Key Responsibilities
1. Teamwork & Leadership

Work with the KM and MOD to keep the kitchen running smoothly and create a positive atmosphere.
Lead the BOH team during your shift, giving guidance, answering questions, and stepping in to help when needed.
Train new team members, give helpful feedback, and keep the KM updated on how they’re doing.
Make sure everyone knows what’s expected of them, including food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Address inappropriate employee behavior promptly and professionally, and document it for GM and Department Managers to follow up on.
Lead by example by demonstrating a positive attitude, urgency, and willingness to support co-workers.
Promote a respectful and professional work environment, encouraging team collaboration.
Assist the KM in training and communicating changes to the rest of the BOH team. This includes, but is not limited to menu updates, LTO rollouts, procedural changes, etc..
2. Supervising Kitchen Operations
Manage the daily BOH roster and ensure “'aces are in their places."
Keep the BOH organized by scheduling breaks, monitoring staff meals, making sure stations are stocked, and helping the team prep for busy times.
Work alongside your team, cooking, expediting (working expo), or prepping to keep things moving, especially during peak hours.
Manage tickets and ticket times during busy times to ensure consistent and timely service.
Complete opening and closing duties, ensuring stations are clean, equipment is turned off, and checklists are filled out.
Report any equipment issues to the KM or GM so they can be addressed quickly.
Handle call-offs by gathering details, finding coverage, and logging the situation in ShiftNotes.
Know how to handle and document incidents, such as injuries, food safety issues, or property damage, and follow up as needed.
3. Assisting with Organizing and Cost Management
Help the KM with inventory maintenance by checking supplies, reducing waste, and keeping portion sizes on track. Assist the KM with monthly inventories.
Write prep lists based on established pars, current stock levels, and expected business. Make sure the team follows the prep list assignments to avoid running out of items.
Organize storage areas, check in deliveries, and ensure everything is put away properly.
Follow staffing guidelines set by the KM and GM to manage labor costs effectively, including sending staff home if needed.
Assist the KM with BOH systems management (e.g. maintaining the order guide, prep lists, dough forecasting,etc.)
4. Food Quality & Safety
Monitor food prep to ensure all items meet Pizza Lucé’s specifications and quality standards.
Check completed menu items regularly to make sure they’re prepared and presented correctly and meet Pizza Lucé’s specifications and quality standards.
Ensure food is stored, handled, and cooked safely, following ServSafe and company guidelines.
Monitor allergen slips and cross-contact protocols, and report any concerns to the KM or MOD.
Perform regular line checks to make sure everything meets safety and quality standards.
Help the KM maintain proper rotation of food and monitor time/temperature guidelines.
5. Communication & Documentation
Communicate clearly with the MOD, KM, and GM about any issues or concerns in the BOH.
Work with the FOH team to ensure orders are accurate and timely, and handle special requests or delays professionally.
Document important details, like equipment problems, inventory issues, or staff concerns, in ShiftNotes or via email.
Share updates with the management team, including staffing needs or operational concerns.
Handles call-offs competently by seeking shift coverage as needed, communicating through Shiftnote, and adhering to absence reporting, sick and safe time policies, and illness log requirements. Coaches staff on correct procedures and escalates issues to the GM or department manager when necessary.
Participate in manager meetings and company-wide training, providing input and learning new processes.
Maintain an active email account and respond promptly to professional correspondence.
Demonstrates high competence in handling staff injuries (including utilizing the nurse line), foodborne illness reports, property damage, and guest incidents, completing all necessary incident reporting forms.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in kitchen operations and leadership is strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Must have or be able to pass ServSafe certification.
Ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Great communication skills and the ability to give clear instructions and feedback.
A team-first attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
Must understand that food quality, safety, and consistency is their contribution to excellent customer service.
Demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail
Essential Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot kitchen, and perform repetitive tasks like chopping or stirring.
Ability to work in a sometimes loud, fast-paced environment.
Essential hand/eye coordination.
Ability to effectively communicate with all customers and staff.
Hazards may include, but are not limited to; slipping, tripping, falls and burns.
Frequently bends, stoops, reaches, lifts, pours, wipes on a regular.
Frequent washing of hands and proper glove usage necessary to maintain sanitary conditions.
